Most children who stay in the city might not get the chance to see farm animals. Having the opportunity to grow up, surrounded by the beauty of flora and fauna in the middle of a city, is pretty hard.

Thinking of bringing your kids out to explore nature? We are not saying that… Kuala Lumpur is all sky-high buildings and noisy cars. There is still a farm or two to be explored.

Farm In The City is a popular Malaysian village themed petting zoo in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan, between Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Here children can pet cute and cuddly animals within enclosures that are designed to mimic natural habitats.

More than 100 species of exotic and rare species are on display behind glass walls or in open compounds – there are no steel barred cages for the creatures living here.

The kampong setting has been well landscaped and planted with over 60 tropical fruit trees and shrubs.

Farm In The City can be found in Seri Kembangan. This petting zoo has a comprehensive range of friendly animal species, from birds to fishes and even goats and sheep.

Bring the kids on the weekend out to Farm In The City. Get them to feed and interact with the animals. According to the Malaysia Book of Records, it is a very enriching and fun place for the whole family.

There are 17 stations in Farm In The City to be explored. Watch out for pony ride too.

There are alpacas, deers, horses, guinea pigs, rabbits, skunks, snakes, tortoises, fish, birds, raccoons, and many other animals. Farm In The City unites wildlife animals and tamed animals without cages.

The design of Farm In The City is like a typical Malaysian ‘kampung,’ and you can literally feel yourself on a farm.

The first thing you can see is the tortoise area where you enter the close area where you see huge tortoise walking around slowly. They would walk towards you if they sensed you got food and vegetables.

You can walk through the glasshouse that holds snakes and python in it. Only people who are brave enough will walk through it. If you love reptile animals, you will like this; If you are scared of it, there is a sideway for you to walk past it, haha. It is always good to face your fear, you know?? So accept the challenge!!

There is even a parrot show. The white cockatoo, also identified as the umbrella cockatoo, is a medium-sized all-white cockatoo endemic to Indonesia’s islands’ tropical rainforest.

Other favorites include the popular marmoset, giant tortoises, a colorful collection of iguanas, various exotic poultry, porcupines, ‘dinosaur,’ and other rare turtles, skunk, raccoons, ferrets, prairie dogs, crocodiles, plus snakes (some monster pythons and mangrove snakes).

Spent about 3 hours at Farm In The City and learned more about the animals and what the world outside the city is like. It is a great weekend escape for the whole family.
